Redefining High Performance: Health, Identity and Balance in Elite Sport, a talk by Katerina Stefanidi | LMU

Join us for a talk by Katerina Stefanidi, one of the most celebrated athletes in modern Greek sports history. Her Olympic gold medal in Rio in 2016 made Greece proud on the world stage and inspired Greeks and the Greek diaspora around the world.
Her talk “Redefining High Performance: Health, Identity, and Balance in Elite Sport” will reflect on how her understanding of high performance has changed over a long elite career. Drawing on her experiences of pressure, setbacks, and success, and on a full season competing as a mother, she shares how adaptability and protecting your well-being make it possible to pursue ambitious goals without losing yourself along the way.
The event is co-hosted with the Greek Heritage Society of Southern California, the Hellenic American Women’s Council/Pacific Region Los Angeles, The Hellenic Library of Southern California, under the auspices of the General Consulate of Greece in Los Angeles.
