    July 2025. AHC’s Executive Director visited Samos to engage with local leaders on geopolitical and migration challenges, reinforcing the Council’s commitment to regional awareness and advocacy. The trip underscored AHC’s effort to address strategic security issues affecting Greece’s eastern border.

  • American Hellenic Council Meets with Greece’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Leadership

    July 2025. AHC leadership met senior officials from Greece’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Athens to discuss strategic issues including defense modernization and religious protections. The dialogue reinforced cooperation between the Greek government and the Greek-American community.

    July 2025. AHC board members participated in a fundraiser for Senate candidate Andy Barr, emphasizing the role of Greece and Cyprus in regional cooperation during discussions with attendees. The engagement expanded AHC’s political outreach and connection with national policymakers.

    June 2025. AHC Executive Director Dimitra Kasdagli and a board member engaged with Chairman Brian Mast and Rep. Young Kim at a fundraiser in Orange County, raising key concerns on U.S. foreign policy and regional security interests. The conversation underscored direct engagement and set the stage for continued dialogue on issues important to the Greek-American community.

  • Strengthening Ties with Greece: AHC Meets with Secretary General for Greeks Abroad in Athens, Greece

    June 2025. Dimitra Kasdagli met with Greece’s Secretary General for Greeks Abroad to foster closer relations between the AHC and the Greek government, emphasizing diaspora engagement and advocacy. This meeting initiated a sustained channel of communication on issues important to Greek communities globally.

  • AHC launched a petition through Salsa

    May 2025. Successfully gathering signatures in opposition to the proposed sale of F-35 aircraft to Turkey. The organization then submitted a formal letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio urging the United States to reconsider the sale.

  • AHC Annual Awards Gala

    May 2025. The Annual Gala was held at the Omni Hotel in Los Angeles, honoring Dr. James and Virginia Kallins with the Lifetime Achievement Award and Ambassador George Tsunis with the Aristeion Award for Community Leadership. The event was a great success, drawing strong attendance from community leaders and members.

    April 2025. In an in-depth interview, Nevada Lieutenant Governor Stavros Anthony discussed his heritage, public service, and perspectives on governance and policy. The interview highlighted his Greek-Cypriot roots and commitment to issues like tourism, economic development, and community engagement.
