Affie Noifelt- A Greek professional chef of Nigerian background, Chef Effie holds a diverse culinary heritage that is both culturally nurtured and locationally natured. In the Delta of the Niger River in Nigeria -where she was born and raised- Chef Effie began her endless journey of wonderfully spiced flavors in the exotic African gastronomy. In the late 70’s she went to Greece to finish high school and then went to Los Angeles to continue her studies in Santa Monica College and Calif State University of Northridge. Eventually, she was led back to Greece where she set her family and has two sons. She studied the Greek cuisine and worked in the top professional kitchens of Athens and the islands.

Currently, she is living in California, surrounded by an abundance of beautiful fresh ingredients, farmers markets and a conscious food-driven culture. In this rich environment, Executive chef Effie has perfected her traditional Greek recipes. Her greatest inspiration derives from her Greek OrthodoxChristian religion. After all, she does work for The Huffington Events Center in Saint Sophia Cathedral in LA. Her daily routine is to enter her kitchen, light her candle and burns the Byzantine incents, make a prayer to Jesus and then start working her catering unit. In the church’s premises, she obeys the churches food rules by following the Christian calendar during the daily meals, the celebration buffets and most importantly the foods for the lents periods. After all that’s what how the traditional Greek food was established. She made a promise to the Greek Chef’s Club to promote the Greek Gastronomy and most importantly to advertise all the Gourmet Greek products. During the religious celebrations and the name days she provides special historic and cultural introductions about the meals served. With the Olympics coming back to Los Angeles she would like to participate anyway she can for the Greek athletes and the Greek Olympic committee and show the world the cultural and culinary Greek idea. She is an active member in both the American Chefs Federation and the Greek Chefs Club. She is the author of the book EDIBLE WILD GREENS, https://www.amazon.com/EDIBLE-WILD-GREENS-California-U-S/dp/1658873688
