Dr. Stergios Skaperdas is Professor of Economics at the University of California, Irvine. Born in Greece, he was awarded a BA in Economics from Reed College and MA and PhD degrees, also in Economics, from Johns Hopkins University. He has received numerous academic distinctions and is a member of many think tanks. His research has been published in various economics and political science journals. Dr. Skaperdas' recent New York Times article, “ How to Leave the Euro ,” promotes the idea that the sooner Greece leaves the Euro, the better for its economy. This promises to be a provocative lecture and we anticipate lively discussion. Please join us! |
Dr. Nicholas Economides is a Professor of Economics at the Stern School of Business of New York University and Founder and Executive Director of the NET Institute, http://www.NETinst.org . He holds a Ph.D. and a M.A. in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley, as well as a B.Sc. (First Class Honors) in Mathematical Economics from the London School of Economics. He has previously taught at Columbia University and Stanford University. He serves on the Advisory Board of the Economist Intelligence Unit and Quadriserv. He has been vocal about Greece staying with the Euro (Kathimerini Article here) & Bloomgerg TV interview
