Member of the Board of Directors, VP of Public Relations Kathy Tavoularis opened ‘Tavoularis Projects’ after a successful career in implementing, organizing and building political relationships. With more than 17 years of political experience, Tavoularis brings a wide array of contacts in business, media and government to her clients. Today, her clients include top political organizations, candidates and civic and community associations. She recently served as Executive Director for the California Delegation for the 2008 Republican National Convention. Previously, Tavoularis served as Statewide Field Director for Victory 2006 – a project of the California Republican Party and Senior Advisor for Victory 2008. In 2006 she managed a staff of 60 throughout California that executed the most comprehensive get-out-the-vote campaign in recent California history to re-elect Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and the entire Republican Ticket. Formerly, Tavoularis served as Director of Public Affairs for Newport Beach-based Iger & Associates. At Iger & Associates, she managed and directed the firm’s governmental advocacy and business development strategies and efforts. She was responsible for contacts with elected and appointed government representatives at local, state, and federal-levels on behalf of Iger & Associates’ clients. Additionally, Tavoularis oversaw public relations campaigns and community relations with her extensive experience working and building outreach coalitions with the many diverse ethnic communities in Southern California, including many business groups. Earlier, Tavoularis served as Executive Director of the Republican Party of Orange County, California, one of the nation’s most prominent and efficient political operations. She directed the County Party’s day-to-day operations culminating in 2004, when she directed and implemented the get-out-the-vote effort in Orange County producing the highest vote margin of victory of any county in the United States. Her political reports, strategy plans and youth conventions now serve as a model for other county parties throughout the nation. As a professional staff member for the Republican Party of Orange County, the Arizona Republican Party, the California Republican Party and a number of candidates for political office, Tavoularis oversaw and executed plans to raise in excess of $15 million over a 17-year career and more than a dozen elections. Tavoularis earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with an emphasis in Politics and Policy Formation from the California State University at Long Beach. She has served as a presenter, lecturer and panelist in a number of campaign schools, political summits, professional conferences and policy discussions. She has been featured in the Orange County Register, in CNN’s coverage of the 2004 Republican National Convention including reporting Live from the Floor as their “Delegate Diary” with Wolf Blitzer and was featured on CNN’s flagship nightly newscast “News Night with Aaron Brown” on Inauguration Day 2005. She was nominated in 2008 by the Orange County Business Journal for “Women in Business” Awards and in 2006 was awarded the California Woman of the Year by then Senate Republican Leader Dick Ackerman. Today, Tavoularis sits on the Board of Directors for the Orange County Forum, the American Hellenic Council and is an active Member and former Board of Director of the Orange Republican Women Federated, and California Women Leadership Association and is active in the Orange County Public Affairs Assocation. |
